leadership, discipline, concentration, sportsmanship and responsibility.

• To develop participants ability to become successful competitive shooters as individuals or part of a team.

• Introduce shooting sports to community members and educate them about shooting.

The first class is Tuesday, Sept. 11 and will feature a mandatory

interactive lecture for juniors who have not participated in at least

two previous lectures. Payment will also be due.

This program is open to all youth from Tuolumne County. No previous

shooting experience is required. All juniors must be accompanied by a

with their juniors.

The cost of the class covers all the supplies and equipment required

for the program including firearms, ammunition and targets.

This program is not associated with hunter safety classes.

The program will be held on the 50-foot indoor range, and will run

consecutive Tuesdays through Oct. 23. The final meeting (Oct. 30) will

be a special awards potluck night for all participants and their family

members at the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Posse building on Rawhide Road.

The class is directed by Roger Wilson, Junior Program Director and NRA

Range Safety Officer. He will be assisted by many members of the

California Grizzlies Junior Service Rifle team who started in the
