The Sierra Gold Rush Softball Program will host the Gold Rush Mountain Blast Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.

The games will be played at Standard Park and Epproson Park in Twain Harte.

There are 32 teams total that have entered this event in four

divisions. Those divisions are 10-under, 12-under, 14-under and

16/18-under.

For updates on when games will be played, the Gold Rush has a website which will remain updated: sgrfastpitch.com

The gate fee for adults is $4, $2 seniors, $2 students and kids under 5 are admitted free. The snack-bar will be open.

"This is our second tournament of the year and the Valley teams have

let us know that they love coming up here to play softball," said Ray

Emerald, Chairman of the Gold Rush Board. "We're excited that we'll

have such a great turnout for this weekend. This is a big fundraiser

for us, and it's great to see that softball is getting back in the

picture in such a big way. This tournament will be a lot of fun and

that's what softball is supposed to be about.

"I'd love to see our local residents come out to support the Sierra Gold Rush players."

This tournament is sanctioned by the National Softball Association.

"We're just trying to further promote the sport of girls' fastpitch

softball," said Tournament Director Lani Conklin. "We'd love to have

the community come out to support the kids."
