40th night bass tournament nears

The Modesto AmBASSadors will host its 40th annual Classic Night Tournament on July 21-22 at Flemming Meadows on Lake Don Pedro.

Registration starts at 3 p.m. and "blast off" is at 7 p.m. There is a five-fish limit with a minimum of 13 inches.

The entry fee is $160.

Free physicals offered by SRMC

Sonora Regional Medical Center will offer free sports physicals for

student athletes, cheerleaders and youth campers on July 24, July 26

and Aug. 8.

The clinics on July 24 and July 26 will be held inside the Healthvan at

the old hospital on Forest Road from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is open

to all students.

The clinic on Aug. 8 will be held at Hillside Internal Medicine on

Guzzi Lane at 5:30 p.m. and is open to Summerville High students.

The Project HOPE Healthvan will only provide free physicals on the

dates listed. Students should not show up on Mondays or Fridays.

Parental permission is required for all youths under the age of 18.

Students are asked to bring required paperwork with them at the time of the physical.

Annual Vet golf tourney on Aug. 3

The 11th annual Vietnam Veterans Golf Tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at Mountain Springs in Sonora.

Entry fee is $95, including green fees, cart, tee bag, putting contest and dinner.

Extra dinners are available for purchase.

The tournament is sponsored by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 391.
