Tickets are still available to spend lunch and dinner with three-time World Series champion and future Hall of Famer Tony LaRussa.

LaRussa will make appearances at two separate functions on Saturday, June 23 in Sonora and Twain Harte.

The first event will be "Lunch With LaRussa," a fundraiser for the Sonora High baseball program.

The barbecue begins at 11 a.m. at Bud Castle Gymnasium.

"We're moving along and everything is coming together," said event coordinator Jim Todd. "We're gonna have a pretty good turnout. We're putting the pieces together and there's a lot of them. Tickets are still available and it would make a great Father's Day present."

LaRussa will likely speak to the audience as well as sign autographs and pose for pictures.

Tickets are $20 for lunch and should be purchased in advance. Event sponsorships and drawing prizes are also available.

For more information, call Todd at 743-2607.

After lunch, LaRussa will appear at a Habitat for Humanity fundraiser which takes place at the private residence of his good friends Roger and Judy Houghton.

The Habitat for Humanity fundraiser begins at 3:30 p.m. and will last through the evening.

There will be live music, local wineries will be on hand and there will be a Mr. and Mrs. Habitat contest - a birdhouse building exercise where the end results will be auctioned.

The cost is $75.

For more information, call Mary Rose Rutkanga at 536-0970.
