Preps Plus: Wildcat shooting camp to be held

The Union Democrat Sports Department

Signups are now for the Wildcat Shooting Camp which will be held from June 25-29.

Students in 6th through 12th grade have the opportunity to learn the art of shooting from Sonora head coach Rick Francis.

The camp, which is designed to teach the fundamentals of shooting and help correct shooting technique, will be held nightly from 5:30-8 p.m. at Bud Castle Gymnasium.

The cost is $50. Registration forms may be picked up at the high school or for more information, call 532-5511 ex.187.

High school offers free physicals

Free athletic physicals are being offered for those attending Sonora High School for the 2012-13 school year.

Physicals for boys will take place on Monday, May 21 at 6 p.m. at the Sonora Regional Medical Center Professional Building.

Athletes are to lineup outside the building.

Physicals for girls will take place on Tuesday, May 22 at 6 p.m.

The physicals are one-time offers.

Athletic packets may be picked up in the front office of the high school. Packets will also be avaliable the night of physicals.

The packets should be completed by the night of the physicals and

turned into the Athletic Director Rick Francis, who will be on hand.

Students may also go to a personal physician.

Completed packets may also be turned into the front office.

Because of the extensive summer programs offered by all sports, the

athletic packet must be completed before prospective students can

participate in workouts.
