Bullfrog volleyers beat Lions, lead MLL

The Union Democrat Sports Department

The host Bret Harte Bullfrogs remain all alone atop the Mother Lode League standings after a 3-0 blanking of Linden on Tuesday night.

The scores were 25-19, 25-20, 25-18.

For Bret Harte, Kylie Kester had 14 kills and two aces. Brie Preston had 10 kills and three aces.

Sammie Artiaga was 9-12 in digs and Brittany Schulte had 25 assists.

"We're learning a lot of new things," said Bret Harte head coach

Rich Juarez. "I still don't think we've peaked. I like the way our

girls played a solid game team-wise tonight."

Bret Harte's record is now 9-2, Linden is 2-9.
