For The Union Democrat

Chuck Farris (Diamond Duos) bowled his highest game of the summer season with a 275 and 108 pins over his average. Warren Walker (Helakno Full House) bowled out of his mind on Sweeper night with a 724 and 157 pins over average which make him eligible for the pins over average lapel pin.

Jokers Wild saw Holly Matranga set the stage for the women with a 213/541.

Helakno Full House has a League Champ Summer 2011 and that would be Team #7 (Rich Robenseifner, Walt Bales, Paul Henry and Patrick Pillsbury) after they defeated the Head Hunters (Toni Sundling, Elaine Urruty, Mike Urruty and Billy Sundling).

Having success with the ball we find: Jim Simmons with 267/672, Chris

Parreira 258 both of Young at Heart); in Jokers Wild, it's Robert

Porovich 684, Jason Skinner 255 and Dan Isam 663; and in Helakno Full

House, it's John Rago with 667, Kevin Flanagan 655 and Walker 259.

Joining the "I can't believe that I beat myself," club this week:

in Young at Heart, Jim Simmons 85 pins over with 267 and Chris Parreira

78 over with 258; in Jokers Wild, Jason Skinner was 83 pins over with

his 255.

The monthly Black Oak Senior No-Tap tournament was held last Friday

with Terry Hall in first with an 800, Pat Baskin with 787 and Norma

Espino with 770 for the women.

For the men, it was Lennie Anderson with 852, Mike Silva with 840 and right behind Silva was Jim Sehr with 839.

Sehr also bowled recently in Young at Heart triplicate games of 181

and then came back in BOL 9-Pin No-Tap league with a 290 which included

five regular strikes.

Winter League signups are now underway and more information about

the leagues can be obtained from the bowl at 928-9419. Most leagues are

starting the week of Labor Day, but a couple are starting before Labor

Day due to the holidays later in the season and a couple more the

second week of September due to Labor Day.

Answer: No. USBC does encourage bowlers to bowl when it is their turn. (Source: USBC Rule Book, Rule 106b.2.)
