One day after his magical shot, Junior Lopez, of Sonora, made his fourth career hole-in-one on hole No. 12, also at Mountain Springs.

Redskin golf tourney

The 15th annual Calaveras Redskin Golf Tournament will take place on July 30 at La Contenta Golf Course in Valley Springs.

The tournament is hosted by Calaveras Baseball and all proceeds benefit the baseball, softball and football programs at Calaveras High School.

The tournament will utilize a new format this year called a Shamble.

It is a combination of scramble and individual play. All four members will hit a tee shot. The best shot will be chosen and each player then will play their ball into the hole. The best two gross scores of the team will count.

The event will feature long drive and closest to the pin contests, a raffle and dinner.

There are hole sponsorships available. Signing up as a team is not necessary.
