FREE THROW WOES COST TIOGA GIRLS BASKETBALL

TURLOCK A dismal night at the free throw line cost the Tioga High School girls' basketball team a 51-35 loss to Turlock Christian on Monday.

While being outscored 22-6 in the decisive second quarter, the Timberwolves (3-14, 1-8 Mountain Valley League) shot two-for-13 from the foul line.

"It was really ugly," Tioga coach Jim McClure said. "The game was right there, but we missed 13 free throws in the first half and blew four or five easy layups."

Kim Holt and Amber Brooks paced Tioga with 14 and nine points, respectively.

The Timberwolves wrap up their season on Thursday in Tuolumne against Mother Lode Christian.
