The Tuolumne County Community Tennis Association will begin its 2003 calendar ofevents with its second annual banquet Jan. 30.

The association's second annual Open Junior Tournament is April 20 and 21, its second annual Open Adult Tournament June 28 and 29, a bus trip to the Bank of the West women's pro tournament is set for July 22, and the third annual Tuolumne County Open is Aug. 1 and 2.

Tournaments are played mostly at Columbia College, with some matches at Sonora High School.

The association's major project the past couple of years has been raising money for restoration of the Columbia courts. A fund for the project has been established with the Sonora Area Foundation, as have academic, arts and athletic scholarships.
