Little league, softball signups


Westside and 49er Little League baseball have signups scheduled, and the Sierra Gold Rush girls' fastpitch team has tryouts coming up.

Westside, which represents the Standard and Tuolumne areas, will hold signups the next two Saturdays.

The first session is Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at Curtis Creek School in Standard. The second is Saturday, Jan. 18, at the same times at Memorial Hall in Tuolumne.

Signups are Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Jamestown School for 49er, which covers the Jamestown, Groveland, Moccasin and Don Pedro areas.

Tryouts for the 14-and-under Gold Rush, which is affiliated with the National Softball Association, are Feb. 1 and 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Standard Park. Call head coach Kevin Terzich at 532-0672, assistant Don Franklin at 586-2983, or manager Scott Mundy at 928-1327.
