Four Sonora High School players have been named to the all-Valley Oak League football team.

Senior Joe Harris made the first team on both sides of the ball, as an offensive lineman and a defensive lineman. Fellow seniors Joel Johnson and Bryann Turner made it as an offensive lineman and defensive back, respectively, and junior Tommy Grove was named as an inside linebacker.

They helped Sonora (6-4-1) reach the VOL championship

game and qualify for the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III playoffs.

Sonora's second-team selections were junior quarterback Jeff Hess, senior wide receiver Rob Hoyt, junior defensive end Louis McColloch, senior linebacker Ryan West and sophomore defensive back Zeke Delgado.

Gilbert Martinez, who played quarterback, running back receiver and defensive back for section runner-up Manteca, was named Most Valuable Player.
