Creek Seniors run record to 7-0

The Woods Creek Senior baseball team of Columbia and Sonora is 7-0 after a 4-2 victory over the Foothill Red Sox of Valley Springs at Sonora High School's Bev Barron Field.

Matt Seldon pitched the first six innings, giving up two runs on five hits and striking out four. Tyler Keefe pitched a 1-2-3 seventh, fanning two.

Keefe led Woods Creek at the plate by going 2-for-4 with a double, while John Gorgas went 2-for-3, Greg Pappas 2-for-4, Brandon Runyan 1-for-3 and Jordan Wylie 1-for-2.

Coach Robert Ditler's team of 15- and 16-year-olds is back in action Saturday against another Foothill team, the Giants.
