Baldwin strikes out nine in Mother Lode victory

archive_import

Mother Lode Christian School pitcher Steven Baldwin picked up where he left off last season as he struck out nine in three innings against Wilton Christian during Saturdays 14-4 season-opening victory at Summerville High School.

Baldwin walked one and was in complete command, as he was last season when he routinely struck out 15 or more batters.

He also had a nice day at the plate, hitting a home run and driving in three runs. Jon Atkins also knocked in three while going 3 for 4 and Kenan McDonald had a triple and three runs batted in.

The game ended in the fifth inning on the 10-run-lead rule.
