ANGELS CAMP The Sonora High School boys golf team improved to 3-1 in dual-match play with a 207-211 win over Bret Harte at Greenhorn Creek on Tuesday.

Andrew Silva paced the Cats with a two-over-par 38 as Sonora bounced back from its first defeat of the season. He was followed by Dominic Sarno (41), Zach Hongola (42), Calen Davidson (43) and Loren Ksaizek (43).

Andrew is playing really well right now, Sonora coach Junior Lopez said. Hes jumped up to No. 1 for us.

And, it was a really good day for the freshmen (Sarno and Ksaizek). Im glad to see that.

Ryan Burkes round of 37 led Bret Harte.

Sonora continues its preseason schedule with a dual-match at Argonaut on Thursday before hosting Amador on Friday. The Cats will begin Valley Oak League play on Monday at the Oakdale Tournament.

Weve got a couple of guys struggling a little bit right now, Lopez said. But, theyre grinding and keeping their scores respectable, and Im sure theyll be fine once league play starts.
