Wrestling: BH downs Summerville

ANGELS CAMP Bret Harte High School remained unbeaten in the Mother Lode League by rolling to a 57-15 wrestling victory Thursday night over Summerville.

Tim Beck won by pin at 119 pounds for the Bullfrogs (3-0) and Jake Benton (152) and Vern Shuman (171) also posted pins. Beck took out Justin Cole at 4:58 of the third round, Benton downed Joe Minick with 24 seconds remaining at 152 and Shuman put away Dan Phillips at 1:09 of the first period.

Bret Hartes Dustin Alkema (160) won a 6-2 decision over Willy Muller and the Bullfrogs picked up seven forfeits worth 42 points.

The match of the night was between Bret Hartes Clinton Johnson and Summervilles Sean Kelly at 135. Kelly scored a takedown in overtime to win 6-4.

Theyll be seeing each other again, said Bret Harte coach Brian Metcalfe.

Bret Harte wrestles Saturday in the Laguna Creek Tournament, while Summerville vies in the Argonaut Tournament in Jackson.
