Cross country team members took the top spots in Sonora High School's Centennial Run on Saturday morning.

Michael Royce was the overall winner in 15:41 for 2 1-2 miles, beating Ken Danz of Sonora's Class of 1975 by four seconds in the high school boys' and community men's division.

In the high school girls' and community women's division, Sonora students Kelcie Lamberton, Danielle Garvin, Crystal Cumpston and Shayla Collie tied for first place in 20:35. The top community finisher was Amy Alonzo in 21:17.

In a division for fifth- and sixth-grade boys, Casey Bressler of Twain Harte won in 12:41 for 1 1-2 miles.

The event, organized by Sonora Spanish teacher Frank Garcia, was a fund-raiser for Sonora cross country.

"I'd just like to say thank you to all the people who donated to our program," Sonora coach Sara Burgess said.
