CLUB CHAMPS at Mountain Springs for the 18-hole women's group are Karen Sinclair and Jean Mallory.
Sinclair won the gross title with rounds of 77, 90 and 88 for a 54-hole total of 255, while Mallory took the net title at 197.
THE FIFTH annual Doodoo Wah Tournament, hosted by the off-beat Tuolumne County folk-singing duo of the same name, is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18, at Twain
Golfers will skills ranging "from above average to beyond hope" are welcome, said tournament director Tom Jepson.
Golfing faux pas are a big part of the tournament's brief history.
"In 1999, one of the first shots was a hole-in-one on
the wrong hole," Jepson recalled.
The cost is $40 per player for the nine-hole scramble, which begins at 1 p.m. Proceeds will go toward a college scholarship for a Sonora High School music student.

THE 13TH ANNUAL Mother Lode Amateur Championship is coming up Sept. 20 and 21 at Sequoia Woods in Arnold.
There'll be three men's and two women's handicap flights, plus the men's scratch championship flight.
The tournament is open to players with Northern California Golf Association of Women's Golf Association of
Northern California handicaps. Play will begin at 8 a.m. each day.
