HOUGH SWIMS AT WESTERN ZONE MEET

TEMPE, Ariz. Tuolumne County Aquatics-Sonora Sport and Fitness swimmer Melissa Hough swam to three personal-bests at the Western Zone Swim Championships.

Swimming as a member of the Sierra Nevada squad in the 17- to 18-year-old division, Hough established new personal and TCA records in the 200 freestyle (2 minutes, 19.81 seconds), 400 freestyle (4:56.52) and 200 butterfly (2:51.63).

She also nearly matched her best times in the 1,500 freestyle (19:37.91) and 800 freestyle (10:16.56).

Hough and her teammates swam against teams from Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho and four other teams from California.
