Summer season wraps up with four winning titles

The Tuolumne County Recreation Department summer season ended Friday with four teams winning slowpitch championships at Standard Park.

Top-seeded Sierra Bible 1 (10-0-1) claimed the Men's Church title with 19-3 routs of both No. 4 Word of Life (3-7) and No. 2 Chapel in the Pines (6-4-1). Chapel won 16-2 over No. 3 Latter-day Saints/Tire and Wheel Center (5-5) to make the finals.

Men's F saw No. 1 Baldwin Catering (10-1) prevail by winning 15-7 over No. 4 Brian Townsend Trucking (6-4) and 14-13 over No. 2 The Rock (8-3).

In Men's Super F, No. 4 Word of Life (6-5) pulled a 12-8 semifinal upset of top-seeded and previously undefeated Myers Construction (9-1), then won it all with a 25-23 victory over No. 2 Lee Smail Construction (7-4).

The final title was claimed by No. 1 Top Shelf (9-2), which took Women's Thursday E by sweeping No. 2 Concrete Concepts (7-4) in a best-of-3 series, 15-10 and 8-6.
