SUMMER SPECIALS AT SFB

archive_import

SUMMER IS the season for specials, as there is less league action than in the peak winter months.

? Wednesdays from 9 to 11 p.m. is "Red Head Pin" time. Such a pin will show up every so often, and a player striking when a red head is in place will win a free game.

? Kids' day is every weekday beginning at 11 a.m. Youngsters can bowl for $2.10 per game and can rent shoes for half price.

No matter the season, league bowlers always are being sought. Information is available at the front desk of the bowling center.

THE BIG NEWS of the week in summer leagues was an unusual all-spare game by Don Ryland in Hot Summer Nights. The left-hander's score was 180.

Lloyd Souza rolled a week-high game of 267 in Happy Fours, which also saw a 256 by Carroll Manning and the high women's game of 222 by Marcie Wells.

Also, Bill Kelly rolled a 257 game and 675 series in Family Affair, and a 655 series in Fun Thursday.
