There's been no stopping the High Sierra Minor Little League baseball team the last week or so.

Last night, High Sierra won for the sixth straight time while facing elimination, beating Westside 11-2 to force a winner-take-all championship game tonight at 6 in the District 15 Traveling All-Star Tournament for ages 9 and 10 at Jerry Whitehead Field in Tuolumne.

Tonight's winner advances to the Section 6 Tournament next week in Sanger, near Fresno.

Taylor Gold pitched a six-inning complete game for High Sierra (Twain Harte, Soulsbyville Belleview), striking out 11. He was in complete command, especially after his teammates put seven runs on the board in the first inning.

Gold got some heavy hitting support from A.J. Sooter, Eddy Cruz and Jared English. Sooter went 3-for-3 with a double, a run scored and a run batted in; Cruz went 2-for-2 with a run and two RBIs; and English went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs.

Also, Jordan Dye went 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI, Isaiah Hazelton went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Robert Perkins went 1-for-1 with a run and an RBI.

Colton Krieg went 3-for-3 and Zack Roberson 2-for-3 with a double for Westside (Tuolumne, Standard).
