High Sierra won its fourth straight game last night to reach the semifinals of Little League baseball's District 15 Traveling All-Star Tournament for Minors (ages 9 and 10) at Jerry Whitehead Field in Tuolumne.

The team representing the Soulsbyville, Twain Harte and Belleview school districts will meet Calaveras American (Angels Camp and Copperopolis) tonight at 6 for the right to play host Westside (Tuolumne, Standard) in the championship round tomorrow and, if necessary, Thursday, at 6.

Aaron Franklin, Jared English and A.J. Sooter all went 4-for-4 to lead High Sierra to last night's 14-8 elimination-game victory over Amador West of Jackson. Franklin tripled, scored a run and had a run batted in; Sooter doubled, scored and drove in two runs; and English scored four times.

Also having big games were Karson Canaday, 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs; Rocco Pallante, 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI; Isaiah Hazelton, 3-for-5 with a double, three runs and an RBI; Tim Reel, 2-for-2 with two runs; and Jordan Dye, 2-for-3 with two runs.

High Sierra is 4-1 in the tournament, including 4-0 in elimination games since dropping its opener to Westside 4-3 on June 28. The High Sierrans then won 16-10 over 49er (Jamestown, Groveland, Moccasin, Don Pedro), 7-6 over Woods Creek (Columbia, Sonora), and 14-4 over Foothills (Valley Springs) before beating Amador West.

The district champion advances to the Section 6 tournament in Sanger, near Fresno.

Ricky McColloch pitched the distance and doubled; Phil Cupler singled twice and drove in a run; Mike Maschi doubled, singled and knocked in a pair of runs; Matt Mays doubled; Bobby Wertz had an RBI; and Zack Clapper singled.
