REITER, SISCO WIN TCCTA DOUBLES TITLE

The doubles team of Tom Reiter and Ron Sisco captured the second annual Tuolumne County Community Tennis Association's Senior Century Doubles Tournament on Saturday at Sonora High School.

After winning 27 of 40 games in a six-team round robin, Reiter-Sisco beat the team of Jim Triolo and Herb Taut 6-4, 6-7 (7-4), 7-5 in the championship match of the Men's A tournament.

In addition to the teams of Reiter-Sisco and Triolo-Taut (which also earned 27 points in pool play), Tom Dunlap-Bob Feigan, Duncan Green-Larry Yacovetti, Carl Lynch-Greg Pitcher and Bob Herfurth-Chuck Herfurth also competed in the Men's A competition.

In Men's B, Chuck Kiel and John Coyle defeated Jim Maltese and John McCardy 6-2, 6-0 as the only two teams entered in the competition.

In Mixed B, Richard Stomp and Carol Stomp defeated Chandrika Behymer and Chuck Kiel 6-3, 0-6, 7-6 (7-2) as the only two teams entered in the competition.

Winners received gift certificates to local restaurants while the second-place teams won a gift basket of soup and wine.

In order to be eligible, doubles partners had to be a combined 100 years of age.

The final TCCTA event of the season will be its Open Tournament on Aug. 2-3 at the Sonora High School and Columbia College tennis courts. That event will feature both singles and doubles play for juniors (under-18), men, women and mixed teams. The deadline for registration is July 29. For more information, call Bob Feigan at 532-7276.
