BIG TOURNEYS IN ANGELS CAMP, GROVELAND

BIG TOURNAMENTS were held by women's clubs on both sides of the Stanislaus River.

On the north side, the team of Muriel Holshevnikoff, Linda Trefry, Joan Dill, and Carol Simpson won the top flight of the Sequoia Woods Invitational in Arnold with a score of 120.

On the south side, Kitty Edgerton won the Pine Mountain Lake Invitational in Groveland with a three-over-par 219 for three rounds. She finished three strokes ahead of Marilyn Scott and four up on Marie Dean and Norma Baldinger.

FOREST MEADOWS in Murphys will hold its annual Junior Clinic from July 7 through 9 for ages 6 through 17.

The registration fee is $15, with sessions to be held each day from noon to 2 p.m. Call the Forest Meadows golf shop for information at 728-3439.

MOUNTAIN SPRINGS pro Mike Cook shot a one-over-par 72 in a Northern California PGA Pro Series event contested at the Serrano Country Club in El Dorado Hills.

The co-champions were Ryan Riopel from Pasatiempo of Santa Cruz and Kyle Karnow of Sacramento with matching 67s.
