Roller champs


Members of the NorCal Blackhawks 8-and-under roller hockey team celebrate after winning their second consecutive Tour Pacific Cup Atom Division championship last weekend. In the title game, the Blackhawks beat their arch-rivals, the Lathrop Thunderblades, 6-3 at the Bladium in Alameda. The team, which includes players from Sonora, Twain Harte and Jamestown, as well as Davis and Redding, earned a berth in the state championships, to be held at the end of the month in Anaheim. After the state championships, the Blackhawks will conclude their season in July at the National Roller Hockey Championships in Florida. Mother Lode players on the Blackhawks are Kirby Bressler, Austin Van Wormer, Becca Belitz, Kyler Klingberg, Kade Barajas, Kyler Johnson, Evan Rusch, Nolan Dambacher, Alec Dietrick, Andrew Klatt and Colton Davis.
