MODESTO Summerville High School's Joe Sanders scored eight points for the Red Team in a 96-94 victory over the Blue Team in the boys' half of Friday night's annual Six-County All-Star Basketball Classic at Modesto Junior College.

Sanders, a silky, left-handed senior forward, led Summerville to the semifinals of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV playoffs and was named to the all-Mother Lode League first team.

He nearly joined five Red teammates in double figures. Guy Ten-Fingers from Downey of Modesto scored 15 points, Kyle Hugget from Amador of Sutter Creek 14, Jarelle Harris and Kendrick Grace of Modesto High 13 apiece, and Kevin Bland from West of Tracy 12.

Jesse Quesada of Los Banos led the Blue with 24.

In the girls' game, the Red beat the Blue 89-67 behind 16 points by Amanda Kamps of Ripon Christian.
