Five on all-MVL basketball teams

Mother Lode Christian School, Don Pedro and Tioga combined to put five players on the Mountain Valley League's boys' and girls' all-league first teams.

Tioga junior Jason Wiercinski joined Mother Lode Christian senior Cory Henson and Don Pedro senior Nick Swisegood as first-team boys' selections.

On the girls' side, Tioga freshman Kim Holt and Mother Lode Christian junior Amanda Hess were named to the MVL's first team.

Honorable mention status on the boys' side went to Danny Monroe (Tioga), Andrew Marshall (Tioga), Steve Baldwin (Mother Lode), Tim Atkins (Mother Lode), Josh Warrington (Don Pedro) and Jeremy Fish (Don Pedro).

Honorable mention on the girls' side went to Star Costa (Mother Lode), Maggie Stone (Mother Lode), Shelbi Bodine (Tioga) and Amber Brooks (Tioga).
