Soulsbyville claims Pinecrest ski championship


By a margin of less than one second, Soulsbyville School captured the team championship of the 32nd annual Pinecrest Invitational ski and snowboard

competition at Dodge Ridge.

The Falcons' time of 1:09.02 edged host Pinecrest (1:09.92) and Twain Harte (1:11.14).

Individual winners were Ryan McCardy of Soulsbyville in boys' skiing, Brooke Farrand of Pinecrest in girls' skiing, Chance Hildreth of Pinecrest in boys' snowboarding, and Samantha Winkler of Pinecrest in girls' snowboarding.

Austin Nieh of Twain Harte was second in boys' skiing, C.J. Sorrick third and Mike Epperly of Soulsbyville fourth.

Soulsbyville's Tara McCardy was second in girls' skiing, Summerville's Shanta Murray third, and Twain Harte's Amanda Nieh fourth.

In boys' snowboarding, Ben Stockwell of Soulsbyville was second, Adriane Taylor of Pinecrest third, and Daniel Haralanbous of Summerville fourth.

In girls' snowboarding, Sarah Delgado of Pinecrest was second, Ashley Johnson of Twain Harte third, and Jessica Laird of Twain Harte fourth.
