Who is government for?

To the Editor:

Pass SB1272 in California Assembly Appropriations Committee

It is simple … corporations are not people, only people are people! It is unethical for corporations to spend unlimited funds to control our government. Remember, ours is supposed to be the government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

Still waters run deep

To the Editor:

In light of the continual water main problem at the college I would like to remind everyone that government has no enlightened self interest to "get it right" in the first place. There is no financial pain and punishment; there are no lost profits for shareholders. Government employees (your tax dollars) still get paid as they sit home and wait for the problem to be fixed. Bureaucrats and overpaid managers are promoted and praised for "fixing the problem," again!

Still waters run deep; the quiet people can be the smartest and wisest. Those that have the lowliest jobs in most government positions see the insanity of wasted time, money, resources. The demoralization of its workforce through mindless write-ups and meetings with no point are tolerated, and those that see, silence themselves in exchange for a little job security and a pension. If this were the private sector heads would roll.
