Watering request inappropriate

To the Editor:

I cannot believe Mike Sarno asked - again - for lawn watering restrictions to be lifted. The first time I thought "OK, anyone can say something without really thinking it through," but when he repeated it, I was incredulous. This short-sighted vision - since the 1800s - is much of what has landed Tuolumne County in the dire situation it is in today.

I am listening to fire engine sirens as I write this. I have been in areas with very limited access to clean water. Trust me, you would chose to let your lawn go brown than to be unable to clean yourself or put out a fire.

There is an area in Southern California that has underground storage of water to prevent evaporation, that would supply them for three years. That is forward thinking. May our County leaders keep a longer view and bigger picture in mind when they are making these decisions crucial to our and our children's future.

Cut off funding

to unjust judges

To the Editor:

If our presidents use their pens and phones to bypass Congress, then Congress should cut off funding for the agencies being used to abuse the law.

In Federalist Paper No. 57, James Madison discussed this answer to executive overreach.

Also, in Article III Section I - the Constitution declares "The judges, both supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold Offices during good behavior … (Constitutional accuracy) In early jurisprudence guidelines …we find: "The general rule is that an unconstitutional statute, though having the form and name of law, is in reality no law, but is wholly void.

"Our earliest juries found defendants innocent if being tried under an unconstitutional law."

We could solve all our governmental problems by returning to the founder's wisdom and withhold funding for injustice and impeaching unjust judges.
