Strawberry Festival

can wait until 2015

To the Editor:

I hope the Strawberry Music Festival organizers will refrain from tying themselves and the SF Park & Recreation Department in conflict and litigation over the cancelation of the 2014 festival.

The Rim Fire was an epic disaster of no fault of the Park & Rec and it is with grateful thanks to their employees, the San Francisco Fire Department and many other agencies that we can even considerhaving a festival again at all.

Comparing the Festival use to that of Camp Mather is not equivalent in terms of numbers, logistics and complexity. And we will not be out of fire danger for at least another calendar year from now.

Strawberry Music Festival fans should push up their sleeves and ask what they can do to help get the event back on in 2015.Let's work together with the City to make Strawberry 2015 happen.

Message quality bothers caller

To the Editor:

This is a plea to the Forest Service employees who record the permissive or nonpermissive wood cutting messages each day.

My hearing is not what it once was but I challenge all those who read this to call the woodcutting information number at 532-5601 and listen to this shameful attempt to inform the public of very important information.

This garbled, mumbled attempt is a poor performance of your ability to do this job for which you are paid to do. If this is honestly the best you can do I will offer to read the messages myself for free.

Linebaugh Park clean up a success

To the Editor:

A big thank you to all who took part in my clean up on May 3, you know who you are - I've never looked so good.

Thank you again,
