Keep ag teacher

To the Editor:

I am writing about the foolishness of reassigning a tried and true ag teacher - someone who not only understands agriculture here in our county, but also has the rapport with teenagers to get them interested and excited about his passion. This seems to me the height of folly.

I am also suspicious of this new big idea to grow grapes to benefit Sonora High. Grapes are hard to grow, expensive to grow, need most of the work during months that schools is not in session, and take years to come to the bottle. All that means that individual students are not going to learn much in on calls of ag!

And as a last aside, I also don't think high school student should be encouraged to be in the alcohol business.
