I would like to thank every person who voted for me in the race for Honorary Town Marshal, also a special thanks to Elaine Wolfgang and friends, The Union Democrat, Victoria and the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Posse.

Bothered by Jamestown eyesore

To the Editor:

Just wanted to express my thanks to the powers that be that would not grant a variance so the 49er taxi company could operate out of their former location on Rawhide Road. As I recall they indicated that there were too many of cars at the site and too much increased traffic over the one way bridge. The taxi company kept the place very neat and clean … the new tenants have created an eyesore that seems to get worse with each passing week!

Bush library is a ludicrous idea

To the Editor:

What can be more ludicrous: The concept or the reality of a George W. Bush Library? The President, who reportedly has boasted of avoiding the reading of newspapers and the lengthy reports submitted to him by agencies and department under his command, is compelled by tradition to have a monumental shrine erected to house his records, beliefs and thoughts.

Will Mr. Bush have his immortal words, "Is our children learning?" inscribed in stone on the facade above the entrance to the structure? Just asking, that's all.
