Republicans versus minimum wage
To the Editor:
Had a chance to listen to the radio while my wife was at the dentist and stumbled on a station I think was from the Central Valley area. After listening for a few minutes the interviewer was talking to Representative Tom McClintock who represents our county in Congress. They got on the subject of the minimum wage. His position was: the President wants to raise the minimum wage to $9.00 per hour. This would eliminate millions of workers for finding jobs. The explanation was: "if your labor is only worth $8.00 per hour and the minimum wage is $9.00 per hour the employer will not pay $9.00 per hour and you are eliminated from those jobs."
Here is the conclusion: Mr. McClintock just told all the working people in his district that your labor is "not worth" a living wage! For all the workers who lost jobs after 2008 and cannot find a job but were lucky enough to get a job at a Walmart for example, that your prior careers were worthless. This is the Republican mantra nationwide. For those of you who think "they" have an answer you better think again.
Remember, the Tea Party patriots who threw tea into the bay and were dressed as Indians to disguise their identity. Sound familiar? Check the Tea Party in Congress now. Came in as anti-spending and spent the first years attacking women's health issues. They have been the most useless Congress in history with no action in jobs, security, national defense and veteran affairs and security for embassies.
Conclusion: They are wolves in sheep's clothing! The plan is to destroy the U.S. government as we know it. They want board members in Congress not the people's representatives! Remember all 47-percenters. Thanks to the GOP, no more Post Office.
