A concerned citizen

To the Editor,

I am a concerned citizen. We are giving the Columbia school $100k bonus. Who knows where it's going? Probably it was voted on by morons.

I know the majority voted for the business tax, or we would cut school hours, this makes a lot of sense [not]. I am a disabled veteran and I get a $36 dollar pay raise, I fought in Vietnam for freedom, and this is all I get whereas the employees will get a couple thousand dollar bonus. It doesn't make sense to me, teachers are overpaid as it is and they do less teaching than they did when I went to school and do half as much.

Heck they don't even teach math, you have to use a calculator now, and most children can't even tell you who the first president is, so what are teachers teaching?

To get such a pay bonus, yet there are teachers out there thinking the earth is flat and teaching that. Bring back teaching the right things and we won't have so many children out there getting lost, so you who voted for the $100k bonus need to go back to school. Never know you might learn something, like how to teach.
