Union Democrat staff

Columbia School and its issues

To the Editor,

On June 27, The Union Democrat ran an article about the meeting at Columbia Elementary School.

That article mentions a retiring teacher, Pam Kubasek, who has placed blame on the victim of the assault that occurred at the school's after school program by the superintendent's son.

What kind of educator is this?

I wonder how many students she has tainted with this attitude.

Sure is a good thing she's retiring.

The victim was 15-years-old. She can't vote, drive, join the military or sign a contract.

Shouldn't the adult in the situation be making the correct decisions?

Shouldn't these teachers and staff be protecting these children?

All the children!

This is totally unbelievable to me that they don't protect the children first, no matter if they are troublesome or not.

On top of that, they try to alter the Brown Act to suit themselves.

The Brown Act is very clear and they have overstepped their authority.

And they watch your kids.

After all this time, nobody in the faculty, staff or administration is accountable.

Tony Hendrickson
