Zombie March

To the Editor:

This letter is in response to Ken Labarges letter regarding the "Zombie March."

Mr. Labarge I could not have said it better myself. Thank you for clarifying the "ghost" theory when in fact they are just familiar spirits. Grandma does not come back to visit people. This march is just glorifying and celebrating evil. Disgusting.

Common Sense Road Rules

To the Editor:

On Phoenix Lake Road and elsewhere. For those of you unaware, the solid double-yellow line is not actually a lane. You are not supposed to drive on it, or over it. If you're in such a big hurry to get somewhere that you can't stay in your own lane, then you need to think about leaving earlier. Duh. If you can't stay in your own lane because you're too busy talking on the phone and/or texting, then stop that. It is illegal, in case you missed that information. If you are going so fast you are tailgating another, that is also illegal, and it is always your fault if you rear-end someone.

Always, inversely, if you are driving so slowly (well, better too slow than too fast) that you have a half-mile of vehicles backed up behind you, common courtesy might dictate that you use one of many turnouts along the road to allow others to get by. Duh.

While I'm at it, there is a strange and other-worldly device on the left-hand side of your steering column called a "turn-signal indicator." When you use it, it informs those behind you of your intentions to change lanes, or turn left or right. You might want to consider trying it out. It is also the law, or did you not understand that when you took the test for your license? Also, if you actually pay attention to the road while driving, you'll probably not hit a squirrel, skunk, possum, raccoon, deer, dog, cat, Bigfoot …
