Uniformed Climate Conclusions

To the Editor:

This is in response to Jan Higgins letter Sept. 21. When you use discredited scientists for your conclusion that climate change is not happening you are making a clearly uninformed conclusion. A quick search of their names shows how they tweak data to fit the industry that pays for their "study". The vast majority of climate scientists disregard Roy Spencer and his ilk as paid shills who will say whatever they are paid to say. Ms. Higgins would be well served by doing a little more research before she screams liar to anyone who believes in global warming. Such research will show your letter does not hold up to the sniff test.

Zombie March

To the Editor:

What is this? The U.D.'s lead article on Oct. 5 featuring an upcoming parade of dead people? In the first place, there are no such things as ghosts. There are, of course, demons that imitate friends or relatives who have died. They do anything to distract or disturb people from the truth and keep them upset or fearful.

Halloween was originally a time to recognize and respect those who have died. It has now been corrupted to mean a scary time with the objective of frightening others in the most ghoulish ways possible.

I do not participate in Halloween because it has become a celebration of evil. I am shocked that The Union Democrat would prominently promote such an activity.
