Bringing happiness

To the editor:

I'd like to thank Gina Proctor and her Jamestown business for covering our transportation expenses so we could visit the elders at Unit 6 of the Long Term Care Center.

During the school year we did many different projects for them. We read our ABC books, sang Christmas songs, made Valentine cards, square danced, created a lupine art work and wrote many poems for each one.

When we see them, it brings happiness to their lives. We bring love to them. We help bring back their memories.

These visits cheer the elders up, because they get sad sometimes in this lonely place. We should always visit the elders to make them feel loved.

Chinese Camp teacher Sheri Betz's students visited residents of Unit 6 of Sonora Regional Medical Center's Long Term Care Center once a month throughout the school year, as did her classes at Jamestown for the past several years.

Gina Proctor, of the schools Parent-Teacher Organization, arranged transportation to the Long Term Care Center, which was paid for by her employer, Micro-Tronics.
