Dangerous turn

To the editor:

So very sad that someone has to die over the turn onto Bell Mooney Road off Highway 108 in Jamestown. I have also hit my brakes as hard as I could at the very same spot because someone was turning, but I was in a car.

They really need to put in a turn lane at Bell Mooney and at Hurst Ranch Feed Store. If they had, maybe the individual who died in a recent motorcycle accident would still be alive. Just my opinion.

Thank you

To the editor:

Don and I would like to thank the employees and clients of Behavioral Health and our recovering community for the fund raiser that was held to help us pay for Don's upcoming surgery. We were so worried, especially after learning Don was going to be laid off some time this month. I am humbled by the support, and love shown to both Don and me. What a wonderful community we live in. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you.

Too many school districts

To the editor:

I feel like every time you turn around, some government entity and schools are trying to cut costs by laying off teachers and cutting programs. Why in Tuolumne County do we have 12 different school districts, each with their own superintendent, plus a separate Tuolumne County Schools Superintendent? That's 13 superintendents in all. One school district has only one school. Who's serving whom?

This issue came up once before to be voted upon and was defeated? These are our School Districts. We pay these wages. We are the Bosses. Let's act like it. Let us demand an election on this issue. If we didn't have all these superintendents and their secretaries to pay, look at all the money we would have to spend on applicable programs. Twelve school districts equals approximately $2.5 million.

Jamestown

(With Chinese Camp's recent merger with Jamestown, Tuolumne County now has 11 school districts. And, as three pairs of districts (Summerville High and Twain Harte, Columbia and Belleview, Sonora Elementary and Curtis Creek) each share an administrator, the county has seven district superintendents - Editor).
