Maedine Foletti Turner passed away into God's hands at her home in Oakland, Calif. on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014. She was 93 years old.

Born on March 28, 1921, she is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert W. Turner and her sister Alice Hardin of Sonora, Calif. Maedine was a loving and essential part of an extended family of siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A native of Sonora, Maedine graduated from Sonora Union High School. She lived most of her adult life in Oakland, where she worked as an executive secretary for Kaiser Industries and Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corporation. She gave generously of her time to various causes and charities. She served on the Oakland Museum Women's Board from 2000-2012. Prior to that, she served for many years as a volunteer for the Oakland Museum White Elephant Sale.

She was a longtime member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Her concern for others in need was evidenced by her support of Children's Hospital and Research Center in Oakland, Calif.

For many years, she and her husband followed the Oakland A's baseball team and enjoyed their season ticket seats on the First Base Line.

Friends are invited to a Rosary and Mass in her hometown, Sonora, Calif. The Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Terzich & Wilson Funeral Home, 225 E. Rose Ave. The Burial Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 16 in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 127 W. Jackson St., Sonora, CA 95370. Graveside services will occur immediately after the Mass at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Reception to follow.
