Deborah Lynn Ogilvie
July 24, 1962 - June 16, 2014
Debbie was born at Mather Air Force Base Hospital on July 24, 1962. She died at her home in Angels Camp, comforted by her family, on June 16, 2014. She was 51.
She graduated from Cordova High School, and shortly thereafter, joined the U.S. Army where she spent the next four years, mostly in Germany.
In 1988, she graduated from the California Highway Patrol Academy where she started her career with the Patrol in Santa Fe Springs, then to San Jose, Dublin, Tracy and San Andreas. It was there she was involved in a traffic accident, not her fault, that ultimately forced her to be medically retired.
Debbie obtained a Private Investigator License and operated business from an office in San Andreas and also from offices in her home. She attended California State University, Stanislaus, and earned her Bachelor's Degree in 2012.
Debbie was diagnosed with stage four cancer in 2012 and thus began an over two-year battle for her life. She was a strong person and vowed to fight it, and fight it she did, tooth and nail. She never gave up until the very end. She was a trooper and will be dearly missed and forever loved.
Debbie was preceded in death by her brother, Scott Alan Cranford.
She leaves behind her mother, Donna Mae Ogilvie; her father, Larry Marlin Cranford; her step-mother, Carolyn June Cranford; her daughter, Nicole Christine Ogilvie, 15 years old; her sisters, Katherine Ann Williams, Jennifer Lee White, Heather Renee Cranford; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014, at the Foothill Community Church, 3710 Whittle Road, Angels Camp, CA 95222
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, Health Sciences Development, 4900 Broadway, Suite 1150, Sacramento, CA 95820
You may also, of course, contribute to a charity of your choice.
