Karl Leonard Czadzeck, commonly known as Skip, passed away at Sonora Regional Medical Center at the age of 75 on May 5, 2014, with his loved ones by his side.

Skip was a nine-year resident of Twain Harte, Calif., and was active in several local organizations including the SIRs, the Tuolumne County Newcomers Club and the Board for Brentwood Lake Park.

Skip was born on March 24, 1939, in Ann Arbor, Mich., yet spent most of his adult life in California. Skip and his wife, Margaret, lived in Fremont, Calif., in the San Francisco Bay Area for 33 years before retiring to Twain Harte. Skip and his beloved wife Margaret were married for 56 years.

Skip was a railroad engineer and professional photographer by trade and also served in the United States Navy. As a railroad engineer, Skip worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 46 years. Donald Lee Montoya

Dec. 5, 1950 - June 19, 2014

Donald "Donnie" Lee Montoya, 63, of Columbia, died on June 19, 2014. Donnie lived in Tuolumne County for the past 30 years.

Donnie was born in Oakland in 1950 to Joe C. Montoya, of Colorado, and Martha C. Meyrat-Montoya, of Iowa. Donnie served as an Oakland firefighter and was a member of the Oakland Firefighters Union Local 55.

In Donnie's 63 years, he touched so many people. He loved Raiders football, golf, Spaghetti Westerns and old country music, mainly Gene Autry. He was an active part of the local folk music scene and was an employee of the Strawberry Music Festival for many years.

Donnie is survived by his brother, Ronald Montoya, of Oakland; his life partner for the last 13 years, Nancy Whitaker-Sanger, of Columbia; his best friends, Ken and Mary Erhardt, of Danville; his nieces, Katy and Amanda Erhardt and numerous friends too many to count.

On behalf of Donnie and his family, we would like to thank the staff at Doctors Medical Center and Hospice for their amazing help during the last week of his life.

A celebration of life will be held in Donnie's honor at a future date to be announced by his family.
