Roger Marvin De Valle

Jan. 20, 1931- Feb. 1, 2014

Sonora resident Roger Marvin De Valle died Feb. 1 at his home. He was 83.

Mr. De Valle was born in Chicago, son of Estelle and Eduardo De Valle.

He joined the U.S. Army at age 17 and became a first sergeant. He served in the Korean and Vietnam campaigns and earned a Bronze Star. He served in the military for 21 and retired in December 1966 as a Chief Warrant Officer 3.

He married Mary Ann Robles on June 17, 1951, in Los Gatos. They raised five children in San Jose. He retired as a general manager for International Paper Co.

He moved to Sonora in 1990. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 315 and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 119. He enjoyed target shooting, golfing and spending time his friends and family.

Mr. De Valle was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years; and daughter, Rita Ann Chacon.

Mr. De Valle is survived by his children and their spouses, Susan and Joe Flores, of San Jose, Jeannette Blomquist of Colorado Springs, Colo., Roger L. De Valle, of Gardnerville, Nev., and Jace and Becky DeValle, of Arvada, Colo.; grandchildren, John Chacon, David Chacon, Peter Chacon, Sonny Flores, Roxanne Whann, Michelle Steele, Jesse Flores, Vincent Flores, Annette Borja, Anthony Borja, Andrew De Valle, and Alexander Borja, Adina De Valle, Rebecca De Valle, Christie De Valle, Joshua De Valle, Jordan De Valle, Levi DeValle, Seth DeValle, Isaac De Valle, Jubilee De Valle and Boaz De Valle; and many great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sonora, followed by an honor guard ceremony at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Sonora.

Frances Love Seville-Aiton

Oct. 3, 1919 - Jan. 26, 2014

Ripon resident Frances Love Seville-Aiton died Jan. 26 at Bethany Care Home in Ripon. She was 94.

Ms. Seville-Aiton was born in Tuolumne, daughter of John and Ida Love.

She was the great-granddaughter of William C. and Elizabeth Summers Connally, two of the earliest settlers of Summersville, now known as Tuolumne.

She grew up in Tuolumne, but later lived many years in the Bay Area, Castro Valley, Pebble Beach, Fremont and Modesto.

She attended San Jose State University and enjoyed a long career as an administrative medical secretary. She was a founding member of the Peninsula Club in the Pebble Beach area, and a member of the Church of the Wayfarer in Carmel.

Mrs. Seville-Aiton was preceded in death by her husbands, first Edward Seville and second Al Aiton.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Rich and Sharon Seville, of Vacaville, and Jan and Rick Nullmeyer, of Ripon; grandchildren Carrie, Kevin, Steve, Ryan; and seven great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held.

Lorie Ann (DeRenzo) Miller

March 15, 1958 - Jan. 18, 2014

Sonora resident Lorie Ann (DeRenzo) Miller died Jan. 18 at her home. She was 55.

Mrs. Miller was born in Santa Clara, the daughter of John and Betty DeRenzo.

She married Frank Miller in June 1981. They moved to San Diego in 1990, where Mr. Miller worked for Pepsi Cola Co. and she worked as a receptionist in the medical field.

They moved to Tuolumne in 2004 where she worked at Tuolumne General Hospital and Sonora Regional Medical Center as a medical receptionist/records clerk.

She enjoyed inviting her family to explore the Tuolumne County area and donating to the Humane Society.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her mother, Betty DeRenzo, of San Jose; her sisters and their spouses, Debbie and Bob Sol, Patty and Delfino Melendez, Lisa and Rick Lee, JoAnne and Tony Silva; and two nephews and a niece.

Donations can be made in her honor to the Tuolumne County Humane Society.

A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at St. Julie's Catholic Church, 366 St. Julie Drive, San Jose, CA 95125
