Leroy Hammon

Sept. 8, 1943 - Dec. 9, 2013

Jamestown resident Leroy Hammon died Dec. 9 at Casa Viejos Assisted Living in Jamestown. He was 70.

Mr. Hammon was born in Missouri and was a home health caretaker for 20 years. He lived in Tuolumne County for five years.

Mr. Hammon enjoyed collecting antiques and spending time with his dog, Bowser.

Mr. Hammon is survived by his sister, Virginia Harguth, of Redding; and brothers, John Hammon, of Jamestown, Lindsey Hammon, of Groveland, Max Hammon, of Redding and Ken Hammon, of Redding.

No services are scheduled.

Dale Wooldridge

Nov. 12, 1941 - Dec. 14, 2013

Longtime Sonora resident Dale Wooldridge died Dec. 14 at his home. He was 72.

Mr. Wooldridge was born in Oakland and lived in Sonora for 50 years. He worked as a carpenter in residential construction for 50 years.

Mr. Wooldridge enjoyed motorcycles, sports and photography.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie Wooldridge, of Sonora; daughters, Sandy Callahan, of Sonora and Sara Billdt, of Eugene, Ore.; sons, Dale Wooldridge, of Folsom and Taj Matney, of Sonora; and five grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Theomae (Thomas) Throne

May 17, 1927 - Dec. 17, 2013

Longtime Sonora resident Theomae (Thomas) Throne died Dec. 17 at a Modesto care home. She was 86.

Mrs. Throne was born in Newman and worked as a nurse's aide for 58 years. She lived in Sonora for 25 years. She enjoyed sewing and going to casinos.

Mrs. Throne was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Throne.

She is survived by her son, Tom Throne, of Modesto; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services have been held, with burial at Acacia Memorial Park in Modesto.

Virginia Louise 'Ginny' Murphy

Dec. 4, 1934 - Dec. 18, 2013

Former Calaveras County resident Virginia Louise "Ginny" Murphy died Dec. 18 at a Modesto care home. She was 79.

Mrs. Murphy was born in Joplin, Mo. She lived in Sheep Ranch for 32 years and Copperopolis for four years with her daughter Patti Hobson, until she broke her hip in November 2010. After that, she lived in nursing home in Modesto until her death.

Mrs. Murphy is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Caroline L. Felix, and Patti K. and Larry Hobson; twin sons and daughters-in-law, James P. and Debbie Murphy, and George M. and Lynn Murphy; and grandchildren, Morgan and Guillermo Felix, Tiffany, Elisabeth, James Jr. and Cassandra Murphy, and Michael, Jonathan, Alyssa, Brandon and Brianna Murphy.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 4 at Angels Memorial Chapel.

BRENON - A funeral Mass for Don Brenon, 88, of Sonora, who died at his home on Dec. 22, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Tuolumne. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Sonora. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

BURDAN - Randall Burdan, 66, of Sonora, died Wednesday at Avalon Care Center. Terzich and Wilson is handling arrangements.

CAMPBELL - Sarah Elizabeth Campbell, of Austin, Texas, a former longtime Columbia resident and musician, died Thursday of cancer.

DANIEL - Leonard Daniel, 83, of Tuttletown, died Dec. 20 at his home. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
