William A. 'Bill' Harrington

June 27, 1940 - Nov. 3, 2013

Former Tuolumne County resident William A. "Bill" Harrington died Nov. 3 at his home in Roseville. He was 73.

Mr. Harrington was born in Jamestown, the son of Simeon and Marjorie Harrington.

He was raised in Tuolumne and graduated from Summerville High School in 1958.

He served in the U.S. Navy for three years from 1958 to 1961. He worked for Pacific Bell Telephone Co. for 29 years in Roseville and retired in 1996.

He lived in Roseville for the past 40 years.

Mr. Harrington enjoyed trains and was a member of the Tuolumne City Memorial Museum.

He also enjoyed attending annual reunions for his high school graduating class.

Mr. Harrington was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Harrington; and his brother, James Harrington.

He is survived by his father, Simeon Harrington, of Sonora; his wife of 50 years, Linda Harrington, of Roseville; his daughters, Danielle Harrington, of Alameda, and Heather and Roger Starkey, of Rancho Cordova; and three grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a date.

Erich Leidenthal

Dec. 4, 1951 - Nov. 20, 2013

Mountain Ranch resident Erich Leidenthal died Nov. 20 at his home. He was 61.

Mr. Leidenthal was born in Palo Alto, the son of Roberta Dalziel and William Leidenthal.

He graduated from Cubberley High School in Palo Alto.

He settled in Mountain Ranch in 1984 and worked for Senders Market for 12 years.

Mr. Leidenthal was a skilled mechanic. He enjoyed firearms, growing orchids and caring for his animals including his dogs, cats and horses.

Mr. Leidenthal was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Joan Leidenthal Ruediger earlier this year.

He is survived by his siblings, William Leidenthal, of Sausalito, Steven Leidenthal, of Antioch, and Anne Leidenthal Roth of Depoe Bay, Ore.

No services are planned.

Gregory Pfeiffer

Dec. 25, 1947 - Nov. 22, 2013

Tuolumne resident Gregory Pfeiffer died Nov. 22 at his home. He was 65.

Mr. Pfeiffer was born in Bieber in Lassen County, the son of Lee and Winnie Pfeiffer.

He settled in Tuolumne County 50 years and worked as a carpenter in residential construction for 30 years.

Mr. Pfeiffer was a member of Chapel in the Pines in Twain Harte.

He enjoyed reading, wood carving, leather work, making ceremonial peace pipes, and studying American Indian history. He was also a destruction derby champion.

Mr. Pfeiffer was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Travis Pfeiffer.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine Pfeiffer, of Long Beach; his daughters, Stephanie Weaver, of Los Angeles, Psalm Keifer, of Long Beach, and Sera Pfeiffer, of Eureka; brother, David Pfeiffer, of Hamilton, Mont.; sister, Kathy Egger and her husband, Gary, of Tuolumne; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Carters Cemetery in Tuolumne.
