Kathleen M. 'Kathy'(Wemyss) Adams

Feb. 19, 1942 - Oct. 29, 2013

Columbia resident Kathleen M. "Kathy" (Wemyss) Adams died Oct. 29 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 71.

Mrs. Adams was born in Stockton to Bill and Claire Wemyss.

She married Philip Adams at South Lake Tahoe in 1967.

She was homemaker and raised four daughters.

She worked as a medical transcriptionist in Stockton for seven years in the early 1980s.

She also owned the Oasis bar in Stockton and Johnny's Pizzeria Twain Harte in the 1990s.

Mrs. Adams was a lifelong contributor to the American Cancer Society.

She was a pianist and enjoyed music. She also enjoyed reading, cooking and dancing.

Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Philip Adams, and a brother, Michael Wemyss.

She is survived by her children, Dawn Claire Shearn, of Modesto, Bonnie S. Adams, of Stockton, Mary Adams, of Sonora, and Patricia Adams, of Sonora; grandchildren, Richard Rose, Christina Butler, Kelly Roberts, Bonnie Joslin-Adams, Michael Butler, and Philip Joslin-Adams, all of California; and sister, Wendy Brooks, of Stockton.

A private family service will be held at later date.

Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Patricia Jane 'Pat' (Knadler) Autry

Oct. 15, 1932 - Nov. 10, 2013

Sonora resident Patricia Jane "Pat" (Knadler) Autry died Sunday at her home. She was 81.

Mrs. Autry was born in San Bernardino, the daughter of Bessie May (McGinty) and Frank Earl Knadler.

She married Kenneth Cantrell in San Bernardino in 1949.

She worked as an administrator at a convalescent nursing facility in Southern California for 25 years.

She divorced Kenneth Cantrell in 1979 and married Howard Winton Autry later that year in Yucaipa.

She and her husband retired from Hemet to Sonora 22 years ago to be closer to family.

Mrs. Autry enjoyed embroidery and quilting. She was secretary of the Republican Women Federated.

Mrs. Autry was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Vicki Elaine Cantrell, in 1973; eight siblings; and ex-husband, Kenneth Cantrell, in 1997.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Howard Winton Autry, of Sonora; her children, Deborah Aventi, of Sonora, James N. Cantrell, of Tucson, Ariz.; six step-children; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, James Knadler, of Southern California.

Donations in her memory can be made to Hospice of the Sierra, 20100 Cedar Road North, Sonora CA, 95370.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
