Evonne Moselle Bravo

Nov. 9, 1984 - Oct. 6, 2013

Tuolumne resident Evonne Moselle Bravo died Oct. 6 in a car accident west of Jamestown. She was 28.

Ms. Bravo was born in Sonora, the daughter of Sarah J. and Mario Bravo.

She was raised in Mendocino and Santa Cruz and lived in San Diego for 10 years. She moved back to Sonora in 2006.

She worked at Jack in the Box for the past five years and was promoted to assistant manager six months ago.

She enjoyed music and singing as well as animals, crystal hunting in the outdoors and cooking.

Ms. Bravo was preceded in death by father, Mario Bravo, in 2002; her sister, Melanie Nicole Woods, in 1991; and her grandfather, Robert Adam, in 2006.

She is survived by her mother, Sarah J. Bravo, of Sonora; grandmothers, Pearl Adam, of Sonora, and Graciela Bravo, of Mexico; great-grandmother, Pearl Pickens, of Sonora; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 9 at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home, 225 E. Rose St., Sonora. A potluck gathering will follow from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Stage 3 Theatre, 208 S. Green St., Sonora.

Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Jason Lafayette Reavis

Dec. 20, 1979 - Oct. 6, 2013

Tuolumne resident Jason Lafayette Reavis died Oct. 6 in a car accident west of Jamestown. He was 33.

Mr. Reavis was born in San Jose, the son of Dave Reavis and Virginia Lee Bruce.

He served in the U.S. Army in Germany in the early 2000s.

He lived in Tuolumne for the past six years and worked as assistant manager at Regal Cinemas in Sonora.

Mr. Reavis enjoyed music, animals and crystal hunting in the outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

Mr. Reavis was preceded in death by his father in 1987; his mother in 2009; brother Michael Schultz, in 1963; and grandfather William Wayne Bruce, in 1986.

He is survived by his stepfather, Chris Fillmore, of Tuolumne; siblings, David Braga, of Modesto, LeeAnn Yarberry, of Martinez, Kimberley Reavis, of Washington, Henry Schultz, of San Jose, and Steven Reavis, of Hayward; grandmother, Betty Bruce, of Copperopolis; an aunt and uncle; and many cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 9 at Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home in Sonora. A potluck gathering will follow from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Stage 3 Theatre, 208 S. Green St., Sonora.

Earl Lester Watson

Dec. 15, 1931 - Oct. 16, 2013

Jamestown resident Earl Lester Watson died Oct. 16 at his home. He was 81.

Mr. Watson was born in Higdons Store near Blue Ridge, Ga., the son of William McKinley Watson and Ollie Adeline (Allison) Watson.

He and his family moved to rural Clallam County, Wash., near Forks, in 1936. He received the bulk of his education in that area. His family later settled near McKinleyville in Humboldt County.

Mr. Watson joined the U.S. Navy on Feb. 8, 1951, at Eureka. He served as an electrician's mate fireman aboard the USS Swift, USS Incredible, and USS Bunting during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on Feb. 7, 1955, at Bremerton, Wash.

After his military service, he worked for many years as a timber faller near Humboldt County.

He changed careers in 1981 and worked as maintenance supervisor at the Fieldbrook Elementary School in Fieldbrook.

Mr. Watson retired in 1994 and moved to Viola, Ark., with his wife, in 1995. They settled in Jamestown in June.

Mr. Watson enjoyed woodworking and built many pieces of furniture for family and friends. He also enjoyed music and singing with members of his church.

Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mae Millsaps; two brothers, Lonnie and Bud Watson; and a son, David L. Watson.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dora D. (Rodgers) Watson, of Jamestown; his children and their spouses, Deborah A. Goodman, of Elkins, W. Va, M. Brett and Ranae Watson, of Fieldbrook, and Thomas D. and Elizabeth Watson, of Sonora; his grandchildren and their spouses, Leanna and Bradley Clarke, of Sutter Creek, Jenna, Lucas and Jeffrey Watson, all of Rohnert Park, Thomas J. and Emily Watson, both of Ione, and Emilee and Jefferey Goodman, both of Elkins; two great-grandchildren, sisters, Deleda Roper, of Springfield, Ore., and Marie Dorvall, of Crescent City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Fieldbrook Community Church, 4103 Fieldbrook Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1604 Ford Ave., Suite 8, Modesto, CA 95350.
