Servando 'Ike' Ayala

Angels Camp resident Servando "Ike" Ayala died Monday at Sonora Regional Medical Center. He was 88.
Mr. Ayala was born in Michoacan, Mexico, the son of Maria and Arnulfo Ayala.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
His moved to the United States at age 2 and was raised in Fresno.
He worked as an engineering assistant at General Telephone of Southern California for 30 years before retiring in 1983.
He lived in Etiwanda in Southern California for a number of years. There he led 4-H, was a school board member, supported youth groups and was Little League president.
Mr. Ayala was a member of the American Legion for 60 years.
He settled in Foothill Village in 2008.
Mr. Ayala was preceded in death by former wife, Nancy Ayala.
He is survived by his children, Phillip Ayala, of Spokane, Wash., Dolores Ayala-Baker of Copperopolis, John Ayala, of Fresno, Dan Ayala, of Vallecito, Theresa Ayala-Garrison, of Clayton, and Thomas Ayala, of Lebanon, Ore.; grandchildren, Eric Ayala, Melissa Ayala, Aaron Baker, Vanessa Baker-Souter, Christina Ayala, Carrie Ayala, Nicole Ayala, Isabella Ayala and Gabriel Ayala; and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was planned for 2 p.m. today at Sanger Cemetery, 568 S. Rainbow Ave., Sanger.

Norma Mae Davis
Sept. 25, 1926 - Sept. 29, 2013
Former Tuolumne County resident Norma Mae Davis died Sept. 29 at Country Crest Skilled Nursing Home in Oroville. She was 87.
Mrs. Davis was born in Southern California, the daughter of Pete and Addey Thompson.
She lived in Tuolumne County for 60 years, before moving with her husband, Doug Davis, to Bangor, in Butte County, in 2006.
She enjoyed her flower garden and watching birds from the deck of her home.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by two siblings, Doris Mammoth and Alice Davis; and her grandson, Dean Davis.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Doug Davis, of Bangor; brother, Gary Thompson and his wife, Lilly, of Salem, Ore., her children and their spouses, Lloyd and Rose Davis, of Bangor, and Bud and Laurie Davis, of Tuolumne; her grandchildren and their spouses, DeeDee Stoy, of Sonora, Lloyd "Guy" and Beth Davis, Falls Church, Va., Eve and Lance McCulloch, of Grangeville, Idaho; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory can be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 7, Sonora, CA 95370.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 19 at Carters Cemetery in Tuolumne.

James Robert 'Jim' Moore
Aug. 25, 1946 - Sept. 27, 2013
Twain Harte resident James Robert "Jim" Moore died Sept. 27 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. He was 67.
Mr. Moore was born in Long Beach and served in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a chief petty officer. After the Navy, Mr. Moore worked as a computer technician.
He enjoyed collecting rocks, playing golf and gold panning. He lived in Twain Harte for seven years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lenora Frances Moore, in 2000; and his father, James William Moore, in 1986.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of 16 years, Carolyn Wanda Moore, of Twain Harte; children, Robert Alan Moore, Amy Frances Moore, Kristine Yoko Howard, Dale Clinton Pankey, and Todd Martin Pankey; his son-in-law, Adam Matthew Howard; his daughter-in-law, Jeanette Marie Pankey; grandchildren, Alex James Moore, Sophie Alexis Moore, Makenna Grace Howard, and Kinsley James Howard.
No services to be held.
